LISA KRIM:
Lisa Krim is a respected and sought-after executive coach who works with senior leaders, individually and in teams and cohorts, and with organizations to meet the challenges of leadership in complex landscapes across a range of sectors. She has spent her career in senior teams and advising senior leaders through complicated, high stakes matters, giving her a unique perspective on the pressures they face.
In her coaching practice, Lisa partners selectively with leaders who are committed to accelerating their own growth and navigating change. She explores with leaders the key changes that will have the biggest impact on their lives, helps them shape goals and outcomes that will move them toward this change, and coaches them through the iterative process of change and growth.
When working with teams, cohorts, and organizations, Lisa is a skilled presenter and facilitator, whose presence and coaching skills enable her to listen deeply, create space for all voices and ideas, identify patterns, reframe challenges into opportunities, stay focused on the desired goals and outcomes, and create the conditions for the team or group to collaborate effectively and make meaningful progress to meet business objectives.
A trained attorney, Lisa graduated from Stanford University with a degree in public policy, and earned her law degree from UCLA. She practiced law at O’Melveny LLP in Los Angeles and Washington, D.C., advising corporations and non-profits on labor and employment matters. Lisa held several senior roles at Georgetown University during a period of disruption and complexity in higher education. She spent 15 years in the Office of General Counsel, served as Interim General Counsel, and for over a decade was Senior Advisor to the President for Faculty Relations, leading efforts to develop University-wide faculty policy and collaborating to advance the University’s mission, goals and strategic priorities, including developing programs and training to prepare faculty to be effective leaders in administrative and governance roles.
Lisa believes that learning and growing is a life-long endeavor. Lisa’s professional development has included earning an Executive Certificate in Leadership Coaching at Georgetown’s Institute for Transformational Leadership and a Professional Certificate in Teaching and Learning in Higher Education at Georgetown’s School of Continuing Studies. She is a graduate of the inaugural class of the SAGE leadership program at Georgetown’s McDonough School of Business.
As a senior woman in leadership, Lisa has been committed to supporting other women and mentoring the next generation of leaders. She is experienced in developing and leading university-wide gender initiatives, including serving on the Gender Equity Task Force and advising the standing Gender Equity Committee; co-founding and serving as Chair of the Georgetown Women’s Alliance; advising student leaders on the OWN IT Women’s Leadership Summit; conceptualizing, building and then serving as Chair of the Advisory Board for the Gender+ Justice Initiative; and serving as liaison to the United Nation’s HeForShe global initiative for gender equity.
